Dear AWSS staff, Trainers, Trainees and Alumni,
Greetings from the Academy of Water Safety and Swimming!
As you are aware, AWSS has been established with the collaboration of Swim Australia Teacher (SAT), a training arm of Australia Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) since 2016. The course curriculum which meets the industry requirement, speaks of the intellectual distinction of the academy. The pedagogy provides real time exposure and hands on training to its students to understand and analyse the swimming industry. The training of the students is structured in such a way that there is skill building in swim mechanics, baby & toddler application and effective handling of children, so much so that the Academy is sought after by leading swim schools and clubs for placement. The Academy has achieved impressive growth of over 600+ students over the last four years.
As the Academy is constantly striving to give our best, we are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Isaac Lim as the Dean of Academy of Water Safety and Swimming. Isaac joined the Academy effectively on the 15 July, prior to the beginning of Batch 44.
Isaac brings to AWSS the wealth of leadership and management experience that we sought, as well as both visionary and operational strengths. He has a deep commitment to service and to the value of the Academy’s vision and mission excellence. Hallmarks of his career have been his commitment to diversity, to mentoring, and to finding meaningful avenues for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Isaac was formerly trained as a qualified nurse aiter he graduated from RMIT in Melbourne Australia and he is no stranger to the swimming industry as that was his launching pad to his future aspirations and career as a nurse, but still able to work alongside in the surf rescue and aquatic safety industry. His experience surmounts to over 2 decades of experience and expertise.
Isaac was unanimously selected, and we are very pleased that he has agreed to join the AWSS community.
Please join me in welcoming our new Dean of Academy of Water Safety and Swimming Isaac Lim, and I would also like to specifically applaud you all, for your continuous faith and belief in this wonderful industry!
