Joining us full-time as Chief Trainer of Academy of Water Safety and Swimming (AWSS) is Omar Chen.
Omar was previously the Senior Trainer of AWSS, training prospecting swim teachers. He will primarily be overseeing the trainers attached to AWSS, implementing improvement strategies to training models with the guidance of the Dean and ensuring absolute standardization in all training methods aligned to the expectations of AWSS.
Omar is also actively involved in many school projects throughout the year that have swimming as a Co-curricular activity or projects that require students to qualify for the various stages of SwimSafer (a national water safety program developed to raise the standard of kids swimming proficiency in Singapore) assessment. He has supervised and coached students from both Primary and Secondary levels from various schools for their individual race and demo events at the Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships.
In addition, Omar has taught and managed students with physical and mental disabilities water therapy. He assisted and improved stroke techniques for participants in the Special Olympics for swimming. Presently, he has a small number of Autistic Spectrum Disorder students under his guidance.

In light of the government’s plans to reopen sports facilities in Phase 2 of post Circuit Breaker, all practical lessons will be on hold until further notice. We encourage all trainees to read the SAT materials given on the AWSS website on your respective login portals during this period of waiting. We look forward to the day when we can meet you again. Until then, stay safe and healthy!

To All AWSS Trainees,
Following the recent announcement by PM Lee, the Circuit Breaker will be extended until 2nd June. Hence, we will continue to provide you with more content on our E-Learning platform. The schedule for the following weeks will be as follows:

In light of the COVID-19 measures until 5th May, we will be adapting the use of an E-Learning platform which will allow us to seamlessly carry on our courses online. The lesson schedule for our E-Learning initiative are as follows:
