AWSS offers an Australian Certified course, with six modules, to ensure that you get the best teaching experience and the necessary skills to make lessons fun and safe for your students.

Additional Swim Australia™ Teacher of Learners with Disability course is available for graduate trainees or NROC coaches.

Our Courses

LIFESAVING 1, 2, 3

The Lifesaving programs focus on drowning prevention messages in addition to educating participants on how to recognize when someone is in trouble and how to safely perform water rescues in every day environments. You would be also required to learn the fundamentals of water safety, theory and practical aspects of land and water based non-contact rescue, as well as resuscitation skills.

Learners are expected to be groomed to become strong rescue swimmers. Upon completion of all three modules, the Lifesaving 1,2,3 certificates would be issued by the Singapore Life Saving Society.

STANDARD FIRST AID, CPR & AED

This module prepares you for unforeseen swimming accidents with practical experience in lifesaving techniques such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and related emergency care. This will equip you with the relevant skills and knowledge in providing immediate care in cases of emergency during lessons.

BASIC SWIMMING TEACHER SKILLS

You will learn fundamental coaching skills and techniques used in lesson delivery and effective teaching of basic mechanics of swimming strokes – approved by Swim Australia™.

SWIM AUSTRALIA™ TEACHER (SAT) COURSE

The SAT Module equips you with the obligatory competencies to teach individuals and groups of varying ages and capabilities. The modules cover from mechanics of swimming to water safety. Learners will receive a Statement of Attainment as proof of proficiency in delivering water related and personal safety & survival lessons, upon module completion.

SWIM AUSTRALIA™ TEACHER OF BABIES & TODDLERS(SAT B&T)

The SAT B&T module prepares learners for lessons with caregivers and dependent learners of babies and toddlers, so that they are prepared with basic knowledge of swimming and water safety when they go for out-of-class swimming sessions.

JOEY LINGO™

Available only at AWSS, Joey Lingo™ is the first and the only module in the world to combine early childhood education and swimming techniques. The module focuses on child development and understanding of behavioral characteristics while in a swimming pool. With it, you will be able to provide an interactive and developmentally appropriate learning environment, making lessons fun and safe while having a structured lesson plan.

SWIM AUSTRALIA™ TEACHER of  LEARNERS WITH DISABILITY COURSE (SAT LWD) *For Graduate Trainees or NROC only

The SAT LWD module prepares learners to deliver swimming lessons and services to students and learners with a diverse range of abilities. offer a suite of extension courses which enable the further development of teachers and creates the potential for members of our community with physical, social or cultural barriers to participate in lessons and programs promoting water safety and swimming skills.
